Goldfrapp’s film Tales of Us plays at FACT on Tuesday March 4, Getintothis’ Paul Baker previews the one-night-only broadcast and exclusive live performance – plus we’ve two pairs of tickets for readers to be won.
Ah, that lovely elfin songwriter Alison Goldfrapp. All fey and nonchalant, singing her cool songs, coolly.
Imagine her singing them to you, her pristine face stretched 20 foot high, all golden bestride a cinema screen, while her latest songs bleed from multitudinous surround-sound speakers, slap-bang in the centre of Liverpool.
Well, imagine no more, because it will happen for real this coming Tuesday, March 4 live at FACT.
Yes, it’s a rather exciting simulcast-type event whereby Goldfrapp will be screening their new 30 minute film Tales Of Us in selected cinemas across the globe, before transmitting what they describe as ‘an exclusive dramatic live performance’ for 50 minutes following the film.
For those uninitiated, Goldfrapp are electronic/dance duo Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory who’ve scored a number of earworm pop hits like Strict Machine and Ooh La La along with six acclaimed studio albums.
The film, inspired by Goldfrapp’s latest album, Tales Of Us (released autumn 2013) apparently ‘shares themes of love, loss, madness and identity, taking the viewer on a unique musical journey’.
Ms Goldfrapp herself says: “We’re very excited to present a unique event, the Tales Of Us film alongside an intimate live performance, to our fans across the world. We’ve loved touring the Tales Of Us album and can’t wait to bring our live show to local cinemas“.
All sounds pretty snazzy, eh? Well, we’ve two pairs of tickets for Getintothis readers to be won, just answer the following question and add Getintothis on Twitter followed by #GoldfrappTales
