Former Emeralds musician Mark McGuire to drop new album on Dead Oceans in February.
Emeralds, those snazzy purveyors of glistening widescreen cosmic alt-rock were a long-time favourite at Getintothis HQ.
So it was sad news, when we heard they had called it a day early in 2013. However, with the new year, comes new music from one of the band’s driving forces, Mark McGuire.
The LA-based musician is to release new album Along the Way via Dead Oceans on February 3, 2014, and it features the characteristic fusion of subtle hyper-kinetic rhythms, towering kosmische guitar work and superlative melodies you’d associate with his former outfit.
