Liverpool Sound City’s music scout and all round city sonic guru Steve ‘Revo’ Miller offers Getintothis an insider’s trip round the three day festival of who to catch for the 2013 edition.
There’s numerous reasons why we chose Revo to be on the GIT Award judging panel. Time keeping isn’t one of them.
However, if you want a voracious appetite for carrot cake, super-fast one-liners, quality tales of musicians acting the clown and a delectable taste in tunes then he’s your man.
Few within the city know as much about the Merseyside scene and match it with an on the money perception of what’s out there across the globe.
He’s been an integral cog in bringing talent to Liverpool since forming Club EVOL all thems years ago, has been the chief booker for Sound City since 2008 and is now the go-to guy at East Village Arts Club, so who better to plan the ultimate route planner around the venues during the 72 hour block-buster that is LSC 2013.
Once again, reiterating last year’s message, he said: ‘I’d like to get the view across that Sound City is a voyage of discovery with an ebb & flow, weaving from one venue to the next.
‘It is a boutique festival that punches above it’s weight which is full of hidden gems, programmed around performance and quality and not just hype.‘
