Aintree team up with Getintothis giving Liverpool acts chance to follow in the footsteps of Stealing Sheep and Esco Williams to play Ladies Day and the Grand National.
The Grand National has teamed up with Getintothis to give Liverpool’s emerging music acts a chance to play at the three-day Aintree festival.
Getintothis and organisers of the world’s most famous staplechase are giving four music acts the chance to play in front of thousands of people at this year’s Grand National Festival at Aintree.
Nominations are now open to find the region’s best emerging talent, who will each have a unique opportunity to perform a half-hour set in The Aintree Equestrian Centre on either Ladies Day or Grand National Day.
All artists – whether solo or in a band – must be aged 16 or above.

Those selected will follow in the footsteps of Liverpool’s hottest emerging artists including GIT Award nominees Stealing Sheep, Esco Williams and hotly-tipped the Mono LPs.
Getintothis champions the best new music in Liverpool and also founded the GIT Award with backing from rock music bible Q, 6Music‘s Tom Ravenscroft and the NME.
Music has become a key element of the Grand National Festival in recent years and among the acts confirmed to perform this year are Joseph Whelan, The KK Band, The Rockabellas and The Daisy Chains.
Pop artists The Saturdays, Escala and Katherine Jenkins are also set to perform during the three-day festival, which runs from April 4 to 6.
Applications close at midnight on March 27 and the winners will be announced on Good Friday, March 29.
Entrants must be available to perform at Aintree Racecourse on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6.
John Baker, regional director at Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “The Grand National is an event that showcases Merseyside to the world and we are keen that it should also provide a platform for new local artists to display their talents.
“Four homegrown acts will get a rare opportunity to play in front of a packed-out room of thousands and we are looking forward to a high calibre of nominations.”
