Noah and the Whale, Oneohtrix Point Never, Everything Everything and GIT Award 2012 nominees Stealing Sheep feature in Liverpool Sound City 2013’s next wave of acts.
Folk stars Noah and the Whale have announced they will play an intimate show at the Anglican Cathedral as part of Liverpool Sound City 2013.
The festival has also announced gigs from art-funk favourites Everything Everything, New Yorker Darwin Deez, Manchester based Dutch Uncles, Daniel Lopatin‘s droners Oneohtrix Point Never, GIT Award 2012 nominees Stealing Sheep and Getintothis favourites Wave Machines.
Savages, Pins and Drenge complete a trio of sensational emerging acts added to the bill.
Also newly announced today are: Alessi’s Ark, Jetta, Bipolar Sunshine, Loom, Deep Sea Arcade, Blackeye, Skaters, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Wolf People, Splashh, Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs, Lulu James, Arcane Roots, Still Corners, Luls, Hands, Wild Smiles, Ian Prowse & Amsterdam, Mikill Pane, Bebe Black, Jacob Banks, Bo Ningen, Big Deal, Night Engine, Mind Enterprises, Golden Fable, Likely Lads.
Noah and the Whale bass player Matt ‘Urby’ Owens said: “We always have an absolute blast in Liverpool and it’ll be great to play Sound City for the first time. The crowd are really up for it and it’s always been a big gig for us. Bring on May 2.”
There will also be an industry convention where Andrew Loog Oldham, former PR man for The Beatles and manager of the Rolling Stones will give a keynote speech.
