Oxygen Thieves serving up white knucke raw power from the Wirral peninsula.
Oxygen Thieves have been on our radar for sometime, and we’ve kinda put off writing anything about them because we’ve been waiting on some fresh tunes.
But impatience has gotten the better of us. They made an indelible impression during FestEVOL‘s mammoth band marathon back in August and since then we’ve revisited their band pages awaiting activity.
But nothing’s doing. Well, it is, but all behind the scenes, as the lads – Al Fewtrell, Rob Fewtrell, Dan Tilling and Cal McMorran – make busy on their debut proper recordings under the watchful eyes of Deltasonic.
As it is, we’ll have to make do with a handful of early slices of gnarly, white-hot knuckle-wrappers laid down in a frosty dungeon; the pick of which is Maskara – a fuzz-soaked reimagining of Incesticide-era Nirvana had they been locked away in Wirral instead of Aberdeen, Washington.
Expect gigs and new offerings from Parr Street Studio in November but in the meantime dip into their twitter to find out what glorious music and clothes tastes they have while marvelling at which poor souls should be robbed of oxygen. Killer.
