Hard Coming Love – bringing sonic booms from the dustland cellars of Zurich.
One of Getintothis‘ favourite times of the year is the run-up to All Tomorrow’s Parties as it’s when we prep are four-hour car stereo jam.
It allows us to gather the choice cuts of the year into one silver box in an attempt to impress a car-full of overly-enthusiastic music geeks/snobs/audiophiles, like myself. Sure there’s moments when chat dictates but there’s nothing better than the quiet acquiescence that a killer new cut just entered my mates’ consciousness.
And save for the home straight (reserved for the singalong winner Go You’re Own Way), there’s always one psyche marathon which gets the steering wheel rapped and toes tapping in the backseat.
In all likelihood, Hard Coming Love‘s Lovelight is this year’s winner. From the cellars of the Aussersihl corner of Zurich booms a heavy, grinding sound, a deep torrent of pulsating energy.
Hard Coming Love is the sound of Spacemen 3 colliding with the backyards of Detroit or the sooty backalleys of Liverpool. The self-titled debut is a monolithic piece of work – massive, epic and urgent.
