By the skin of their teeth, Outfit made a glorious return to their home city at Liverpool Music Week’s closing party and Getintothis‘ Marie Hazelwood was there to capture the action.
It almost didn’t happen. An accident on the motorway and bouts of tour flu threatened to curtail Outfit‘s much-anticipated homecoming to Liverpool.
With soundchecks long done and dusted, and mere minutes before they were due on stage, Thomas Gorton, Andrew Hunt and Dave Berger were all stuck on the road, as Nick Hunt and Chris Hutchinson (himself suffering from severe man flu) waited anxiously for their mates to arrive at the CUC.
But with moments to spare, the trio ghosted into view, plugged in and booted the living shit out of the performance space gallery.
New tracks, old favourites and crowd-surfing which threatened to tip the stage over – gig number six in Liverpool matched up to theirs, and our expectations. Next stop the recording studio. The results could be a game-changer.
