Some have declared him a legend in his own lifetime. West Lancashire bedroom music wizard, Ben Mawdsley finally let the wider world hear a slice of his latent genius recently when comic and all-round naughty man, Russell Brand played his jingle on Radio 2.
Influenced by the likes of Suede, The Monochrome Set and Harry Hill’s TV Burp, Mawdsleyâ has been preparing his self-produced debut for almost 11 and a half years, and with the likes of Antony Hegarty, David Bowie and Dave Rowntree all set to feature, it promises to be one special event.
A spokesman close to the enigmatic Mawdsley, said last night: “Benjamin rarely lets the public hear his work, but he thought he would satisfy the increasing demand displayed by his loyal followers – especially given the wait since parting from his former band, Violence of Indigo.
“We just hope they remain patient and trust Benjamin’s muse to deliver.’
